About the position

The Student Intern role at AstraZeneca is designed for sophomore and junior students majoring in biological sciences, computer science, engineering, or related fields. This 10-week internship offers hands-on experience working on various quality projects within a nationwide team, providing opportunities to learn and develop skills in a collaborative environment. Interns will engage in quality assurance, data science, microbiology, and analytics, contributing to significant projects while gaining insights into the operations of a leading biopharmaceutical company.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects related to data analytics and any projects assigned by the quality department.
• Utilize company tools and resources to meet goals set by the quality system team.
• Develop skills in operational excellence within a highly motivated team environment.
• Execute endotoxin studies and perform data analysis in Quality Control Microbiology.
• Manage bioburden validation projects by tracking progress and communicating status.
• Organize and format data generated from projects for reporting purposes.
• Participate in automating lab processes in a digital Laboratory Execution System (LES).
• Support the team in creating methods, data queries, and general process improvements.

Requirements

• Undergraduate sophomore or junior students majoring in biological sciences, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Expected graduation date after August 2025.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required.
• Coding and computer programming skills such as Python and SQL are a plus.
• General lab skills such as pipetting, aseptic technique, vortexing, and sample preparation.
• Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
• US Work Authorization is required at the time of application.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with PowerBI or similar dashboard management tools.
