About the position

As a Quality Assurance Director at Pace Industries, you will lead the charge in ensuring that manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety. Your role will involve overseeing the Quality Management System in compliance with AS9100D standards, guiding a team of quality engineers and inspectors, and enhancing inspection processes to align with company requirements. You will also serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, driving organizational-wide quality improvement initiatives and managing critical quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Define state-of-the-art quality, reliability, and safety protocols.
  • Oversee the Quality Management System, maintaining AS9100D standards.
  • Guide and develop a skilled team of quality engineers and inspectors.
  • Control workflow within the quality control (QC) department to enhance inspection processes.
  • Align quality demands with current company requirements, following relevant specifications and regulations.
  • Spearhead organizational-wide quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Refine techniques for heightened quality control.
  • Serve as a key contact for external communication with clients, vendors, and certifying bodies.
  • Manage APQP processes for developing Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plans within the facility.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) and First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Direct preparation and maintenance of Quality Control work instructions.
  • Lead Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, enforcing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate quality management and training sessions across departments.
  • Advance facility-level quality improvements through innovative data collection and management methods.
  • Engage in additional related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree coupled with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or 10 years within the industry managing and leading teams.
  • A sharp eye for analyzing blueprints and Statistical Process Control (SPC)/Capability (Cpk) data.
  • The ability to break down requirements into practical solutions for form, fit, and function.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting to drive root cause analysis and corrective measures in casting, machining, and assembly processes.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.
  • Mechanical inspection prowess.
  • CMM fixturing and interpretation of results.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards, NADCAP, and Mil Specs.
  • Proficiency in Continuous Improvement, PFMEA, APQP, and PPAP processes.
  • Blueprint literacy.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) such as Hexagon and Faro.
