About the position

The Quality Assurance Engineer for Alexa Devices will be responsible for leading the testing of large-scale systems, creating test plans and test cases, and driving continuous improvements in quality assurance processes. This role involves both manual and automated testing, with a focus on ensuring the quality of innovative consumer-centric product solutions related to Alexa devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the testing of large-scale systems and create test plans and test cases.
• Automate tests using internal and open source tools & infrastructure.
• Review user interfaces for conformity, functionality, and performance.
• Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution.
• Interpret and report testing results, advocating for quality throughout the development process.
• Work closely with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals during the development and testing lifecycle.
• Consult with project management and development teams on technical issues related to testing procedures.
• Provide regular, detailed status reports on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed.

Requirements

• 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
• Experience in automation testing and manual testing.
• Experience as a QA lead on medium to large sized projects.
• Proficiency in developing tests using Java and Shell Scripts in a Linux environment.
• Experience with automated test frameworks like Selenium or Appium.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality.
