About the position

ICF is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to deliver new test functionality and support existing frameworks. This position requires strong deductive reasoning, attention to detail, persistence, patience, and creativity. The individual will work with our component, integration, internal development teams, and Business Analysts teams to analyze, build and maintain test frameworks and suites across all test phases. The individual will also work with our business, development, and testing teams to analyze, build and maintain processes across the organization. The role involves reviewing and analyzing business requirements to produce comprehensive and well-structured test strategies and test cases. The engineer will design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases, as well as design, develop, and execute automated scripts using our test automation framework. Supporting the automated functional testing by our testing team will be a key responsibility, focusing on application flow and validation of test results. Additionally, the engineer will perform manual and automated testing, which may include exploratory, system, regression, compatibility, system, and integration testing. They will work directly with the Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Data Engineering teams to ensure all work is thoroughly tested. Effective communication across multiple teams and external vendors, as well as different personnel, is essential. Participation in relevant Agile ceremonies such as Daily Stand-Ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives is also expected. The engineer will analyze data and application changes and document their impact on the performance automation tasks, ensuring that test execution results fulfill the defined test objectives. The position requires interfacing directly with the DevOps and Infrastructure teams regarding functional test environments and timely communication of testing events, daily status, and test execution results.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze business requirements to produce comprehensive and well-structured test strategy and test cases.
  • Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases.

  • Support the automated functional testing by our testing team, focusing on application flow and validation of test results.
  • Perform manual and automated testing, which may include exploratory, system, regression, compatibility, system, and integration testing.
  • Work directly with the Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Data Engineering teams to ensure all work is thoroughly tested.
  • Communicate effectively across multiple teams/external vendors (Operations, Quality Service, etc.), as well as different personnel (Developers, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, etc.).
  • Participate in relevant Agile Ceremonies: Daily Stand-Ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Analyze data and application changes and document their impact on the performance automation task (test cases, scripting, scenario execution, etc.).
  • Ensure the test execution results fulfill the defined test objectives.
  • Interface directly with the DevOps and Infrastructure teams regarding Functional test environments.
  • Timely and accurate communication of testing events, daily status, and test execution results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience with test automation development
  • 3+ years of Cypress experience
  • 3+ years' experience with Frontend, Backend, and API testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; must reside in the US, be authorized to work in the US; work must be performed in the US.
  • Ability to design/architect, build, program, test and deploy solutions using an Agile methodology.
  • Ability to optimize code/script using industry best practices and standards.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Strong hands-on skills in SQL development; ability to create ad-hoc queries to meet business needs.
  • Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with emphasis on self-initiation and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated functional test experience, including test analysis.
