About the position

The Quality Assurance Engineer position at 3rd Eye is an entry-level role focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of software related to telematic devices. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute test plans, validate software functionality, and contribute to the overall quality of projects. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of software performance and user satisfaction in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and development team to understand project requirements.
  • Analyze requirements and design documents to develop detailed step-by-step manual test cases.
  • Execute test cases to validate software functionality and identify defects.
  • Document and report issues encountered during testing.
  • Troubleshoot existing and new test cases.
  • Participate in defect triage meetings to discuss and prioritize issues.
  • Assist in the resolution of defects and retest fixes.
  • Ensure that the software meets quality standards and user expectations.
  • Create and maintain UAT outcomes and metrics across the scrum and business team.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, features, user stories, test plans, and outcomes.
  • Learn and adopt new testing methodologies and tools required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Manual Testing, acceptance testing, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of Software testing lifecycle/Testing Methodologies.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, shell, Golang, C++, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Demonstrates high level of self-motivation and initiative with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent team player with a positive attitude, strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with techniques such as Test-driven development, continuous delivery, and test coverage.
  • Experience in testing web API endpoints.
  • Experience using network debugging utilities such as ipconfig, tracert, ping, etc.
  • Experience using command line commands such as tail, grep, top, iostat, df, cat, vim, chmod, curl, etc.
  • Experience using digital oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and other related component test equipment.
  • Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) databases is preferred.
  • Experience with Jira, Gitlab, and Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Jenkins).
