About the position
The Quality Assurance Engineer Intern at Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division plays a crucial role in supporting the quality improvement efforts of the organization. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of Metrology while contributing to the development and maintenance of quality systems in accordance with ISO programs. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product and process quality, compliance with safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities that positively affect safety, the environment, quality, reliability, and productivity.
- Assists teams with root cause and continuous improvement efforts to improve both product and process quality.
- Assists the Quality Manager in implementing and maintaining the quality systems.
- Works with various teams to implement design changes.
- Ensures that products and processes comply with the requirements of the quality system.
- Assists operations in the timely resolution of non-conforming products.
- Conducts inspections using hand measurement devices as well as CMM's.
- Required to incorporate clean work practices in daily working routine.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial).
- Experience working in a factory setting preferred.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Experience in coming inspection techniques, blueprint reading and GD&T a plus.
- Comfortable with hands-on laboratory/factory environment.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week during the summer break.
