About the position

The Quality Assurance Engineer position at the Department of Defense (DCMA East) involves planning and executing engineering and technical functions related to engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance. The role requires developing and implementing agency policies, tools, and training programs while providing authoritative guidance to management and Quality Assurance Specialists. The engineer will resolve complex technical problems associated with major contracts and DoD Weapon Systems throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute engineering and technical functions related to engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and implement agency engineering and quality assurance policies, tools, and training programs.
  • Provide authoritative guidance and advice to management, customers, and Quality Assurance Specialists.
  • Resolve complex technical problems associated with surveillance of major contracts and DoD Weapon Systems.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in professional engineering from an accredited institution.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private sector.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
