About the position

The Quality Assurance Incoming Goods Technician is responsible for developing and implementing inspection procedures to ensure the quality of incoming materials. This role involves training and supporting quality inspectors, analyzing data, and performing tests to assess product quality. The technician will also participate in failure analysis and corrective action investigations, ensuring compliance with quality standards and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Trains, leads, and supports Quality Inspectors in quality assurance and quality control principles.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data and enters data into computer for analysis; develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract.
  • Records test/inspection/audit data, applying statistical techniques; guides technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
  • Acts as a member of the Material Review Board and participates in related activities, failure analysis, and corrective action investigations.
  • Assesses the cost of, and determines the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications by performing analysis.
  • Conducts process audits per procedures and process control plans.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Four (4) years of lab, quality, or related experience.
  • Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school.
  • Two years experience and/or training in plastics manufacturing processes (blow molding, injection molding, and vacuum forming).
