About the position

The Quality Assurance Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the QA department, ensuring that all food safety, quality, and regulatory standards are met in juice processing and packaging. This role involves mentoring QA Technicians, conducting product testing, and maintaining compliance with GMPs and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all duties and activities of the QA Technicians on shift.
• Monitor, document, and notify all Food Safety/Quality and Food Security aspects of Juice Processing.
• Conduct product testing at all stages of processing and packaging.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment.
• Audit and document facility sanitation and GMP compliance.
• Monitor scheduled titrations for CIP cleaning and sanitizing compounds.
• Document Brix, Color, Flavor, Micro, and processing parameters.
• Monitor finished goods packaging and date codes, sampling, and leak detection.
• Perform pre-operational visual inspections of packaging and product holding equipment.
• Assist QA Manager in product traceback exercises and inventory control.

Requirements

• Knowledge of QAM policy and procedure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Food Regulations like Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (Juice HACCP).
• Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of the shift and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with microbiological testing, including traditional micro plating and Hygiena testing.
• Independent and motivated personality to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
