About the position

The Quality Assurance Manager at Arcosa Aggregates Texas LLC is responsible for overseeing quality control processes at the Ferris, Texas plant. This role involves ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards, leading quality control teams, and implementing quality assurance programs. The manager will also engage with customers and regulatory bodies to maintain high-quality standards and foster positive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to quality control teams across multiple locations to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs, standards, and protocols to meet industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the testing and analysis of aggregates to assess and maintain product quality, including conducting regular sampling, testing, and analysis of materials.
  • Continuously assess and improve production processes to optimize product quality, consistency, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure all mining and production activities adhere to safety and environmental regulations, as well as quality control standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control data, testing results, and compliance documentation.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to quality control staff, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with TXDOT and customers to address quality-related issues, ensure satisfaction, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Generate regular reports on quality control performance, including KPIs and quality metrics, to senior management.
  • Consult with management to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for material issues.
  • Adhere to Arcosa's Compliance Validation Plan.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including day trips to local plants.

Requirements

  • Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Positive, team-based attitude.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Geology, Mining Engineering, or Materials Science (advanced degrees preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control and assurance within the aggregate mining industry, including supervisory or managerial roles.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in quality control software and tools (Stonemont, AggFlow).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with a focus on environmental responsibility.
  • Flexibility to travel to multiple mining and production sites within the Texas region as needed.
  • Thorough understanding of the aggregate material being inspected.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to lift 50 to 70 lbs.
