About the position

The Quality Assurance Nurse at Hearthstone Communities plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of residents by managing the infection control program. This position involves developing, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention strategies, as well as providing education and training to staff. The nurse will work closely with healthcare professionals to maintain high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate the organizational infection prevention program.
• Create policies and procedures for surveillance, pandemic preparedness, hand hygiene, and standard precautions.
• Provide education on infection control to employees and residents.
• Manage outbreak situations and transmission-based precautions.
• Perform wound assessments and develop skin care programs to prevent breakdown.
• Conduct in-services on wound prevention and care for nursing staff.
• Collaborate with the Wound Care doctor.

Requirements

• Current State of Illinois RN/LPN license.
• Primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or related fields.
• Willingness to obtain CDC Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Certificate.
