About the position

The Quality Assurance Project Coordinator at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is responsible for managing complex oversight functions related to regulatory audits and corrective action plans. This role involves coordinating agency-wide policies, controlling quality documentation, and supervising staff to ensure effective communication and compliance with quality management standards. The incumbent will also oversee the development of quality documentation and project schedules, ensuring alignment with WMATA's Quality Management System Plan.

Responsibilities

• Manage the audit review process, including document collection and communication of audit findings.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and schedules.
• Oversee the creation and review of corrective action plans (CAPs) based on audit findings.
• Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) process and ensure compliance with core standards.
• Delegate assignments to Quality Assurance staff and oversee day-to-day operations.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders regarding QMS compliance.
• Serve as a liaison between internal and external auditors and stakeholders.
• Prepare reports on CAP progression and compliance with training requirements.
• Communicate with stakeholders on performance and progress of CAPs and QMS standards.
• Review and ensure accuracy of stakeholder documents and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.
• Five years of experience managing people and programs in quality management or operational auditing.
• Experience in business operations, quality management, or data analytics programs.

Nice-to-haves

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification or equivalent certification such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
