About the position

The Quality Assurance Project Coordinator is responsible for managing complex oversight functions related to regulatory audits and corrective action plans within WMATA. This role involves acting as a liaison between internal and external entities, ensuring effective communication and coordination of audit processes, quality documentation, and compliance with established policies. The incumbent supervises a team, oversees the development of quality documentation, and manages the Quality Management System Plan, ensuring that all departments comply with quality standards and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the audit review process, including document collection and communication of audit findings.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and schedules as per process control documents.
  • Oversee the creation and management of corrective action plans (CAPs) based on audit findings.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders regarding the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Delegate assignments to Quality Assurance staff and oversee day-to-day operations related to compliance issues.
  • Create documents and reports associated with audits and QMS standards for public consumption.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external auditors and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit reports on CAP progression and compliance with training requirements.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on performance and progress of CAPs and QMS standards.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of stakeholder documents and policies.
  • Manage the triennial update and quality review process for agency policies and instructions.
  • Complete supervisory requirements for direct reports, including performance monitoring and recruitment.
  • Provide training sessions and mentorship to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience managing people and programs in business operations, quality management, operational auditing, or data analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification or equivalent certification such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
  • Experience in Project Management, Engineering, IT, or Accounting.
