About the position

The QA Analyst role at Flex Dental is focused on enhancing the quality and functionality of cloud-based dental practice management software. This position involves developing and executing test plans, managing defect tracking, and conducting various testing activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve the product life cycle. The role is essential in ensuring that the software meets high standards of quality and efficiency, ultimately simplifying the lives of dentists and their staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality and functionality of our software products.
  • Leverage tools such as Jira for test case management, defect tracking, and sprint planning, ensuring full integration within our agile workflows.
  • Perform thorough testing, including exploratory, functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams—including development, product management, and customer support—to understand user requirements, acceptance criteria, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to defining QA processes, methodologies, and best practices to drive product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and document both functional and non-functional requirements, identifying system behaviors and areas for improvement at every stage of the product life cycle.
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to create and manage a QA backlog in Jira, maintaining transparency and prioritization of testing activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for QA and testing, with a strong drive to enhance product quality.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, including acceptance tests, performance tests, exploratory testing, and the creation of both automated and manual test cases.
  • Proficiency with Jira or similar tools for managing QA activities and integrating within agile processes.
  • Experience with exploratory testing—ability to test effectively both with and without predefined test cases.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with automation testing tools like Playwright, Postman, etc.
  • Experience working with SQL for testing and validation purposes.
  • Contribute to test automation using tools such as Playwright, Postman, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Familiarity with software within the healthcare or dental industry.
