About the position

The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, also known as The Bug Buster, is responsible for ensuring software quality by leading testing efforts, creating test plans, and executing both manual and automated tests. This role involves collaborating with developers and product managers to deliver reliable, bug-free software that meets high standards of quality and performance, ultimately impacting user satisfaction and product success.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
  • Perform detailed manual testing of software applications, including functional, regression, exploratory, and usability testing.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or JUnit.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or Asana.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand project requirements and contribute to the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct performance testing to ensure software performs well under load and stress conditions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in both manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, or similar frameworks.
  • Expertise in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs using bug tracking tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or Asana.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with developers and product managers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in software testing or QA (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-based testing environments, and test management tools.
  • Proven experience conducting performance testing, load testing, and security testing.
