The Quality Assurance Representative III (Mechanical) position at GDIT involves ensuring that mechanical components meet high standards of quality and precision. The role focuses on mechanical inspection, utilizing precision measurement tools and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to verify compliance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
• Document inspection results and generate detailed reports.
• Communicate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve any discrepancies.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3+ years of related experience
• Proven experience in mechanical inspection, quality control, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, surface plates, and optical comparators.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• NDT experience is a plus.
• Machinist experience is highly valued and encouraged.
