About the position

The Quality Assurance Specialist position at the Department of Defense (DCMA East) is responsible for ensuring contractor compliance with quality standards related to design, manufacturing, repair, and modernization of various items. The role involves applying quality control methods, conducting audits, and developing surveillance plans to monitor contractor processes and ensure adherence to contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractor compliance with design, manufacturing, repair, and modernization requirements.
• Apply quality control/quality assurance methods and statistical analysis to evaluate contractor compliance.
• Investigate and analyze complex quality problems and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Develop and implement a surveillance plan with clear objectives and a master schedule.
• Perform audits and surveillance of contractor processes to ensure customer and contractual requirements are met.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in quality assurance functional programs.
• Experience in applying principles, concepts, and methodologies related to quality assurance.
• Ability to establish process measurement points and apply statistical techniques for process improvement.
• Experience in investigating defective materials and initiating corrective actions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Department of Defense or federal contracting environment.
• Knowledge of DoD Acquisition Engineering and Technical Management.
