About the position

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor will oversee the quality assurance department and staff, ensuring that products and services meet customer needs and company standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems, leading quality efforts throughout the mine and plant, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The supervisor will also be responsible for training QA personnel and monitoring product quality, while actively participating in process changes and resolving safety issues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality assurance department and staff.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a system of quality controls for production and product handling.
  • Ensure products and services meet customer needs and company standards.
  • Lead the overall quality effort throughout the mine and plant.
  • Supervise the correction of discrepancies affecting product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure QA personnel are trained and proficient in their tasks.
  • Monitor quality of products and shipments, providing guidance during anomalies.
  • Communicate customer demand and specifications to operations.
  • Identify and resolve safety issues related to the QA environment.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and internal safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field or 2 - 4 years related experience and training or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience in a safe food/safe feed environment is a plus.
  • SQF certification experience required.
  • Experience in dealing directly with customers is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a departmental supervisor or lead is preferred.
  • Knowledge of potash and fertilizer production, sales, and end product usage highly preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific data and information.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable with computers and electronic communication tools.
