About the position

The Quality Assurance Technician II at EssilorLuxottica is responsible for ensuring product and process quality through daily audits, data collection, and analysis. This role focuses on continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and product quality, supporting both production and customer service teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trend analysis for manufacturing and inbound inspection frame product alerts.
  • Research and resolve in-process production issues, calling on lab QA support for further testing as needed.
  • Act as key resource for data collection, summary, and reporting.
  • Assist Customer Service as needed with quality issues.
  • Assist with frame fit and lens manufacturability issues.
  • Problem-solve issues using root cause analysis, collecting data and prioritizing data delivery as necessary.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and make adjustments to the Lab Management System database as needed to reduce breakage across the network.
  • Create and implement product audits.
  • Act as key resource for inbound inspection and related activities regarding frame and product quality.
  • Define lens bevel profile geometry and process to achieve process definition to include tool specifications and equipment settings.
  • Measure, monitor and report edge type geometry profiles as conformance and non-conformance to tolerances to manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead process improvement teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in optical manufacturing product and process knowledge.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound optical knowledge; ABO certification a plus.
  • Experience in process/product improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and understanding of process control including trend analysis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts.
  • Good teamwork.
