About the position

The Quality Assurance Technician at Gasser Chair Company is responsible for ensuring that all manufactured products meet or exceed established quality standards. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, documenting results, and collaborating with various departments to implement corrective actions. The QA Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining product consistency and addressing quality issues to enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of in-process and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Inspect and qualify supplier-provided and internally manufactured parts to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance records of inspections, non-conforming reports, and other quality issues as required.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining quality-related production control documents such as process flows, standards, procedures, FMEA, and control plans.
  • Assist in the corrective action/preventive action (CAPA) process to help reduce and prevent recurring quality and production issues.
  • Randomly audit all phases of production to ensure compliance with established production control documents and adherence to quality standards.
  • Work with the Customer Service team to resolve quality issues as needed, ensuring customer satisfaction and product conformance.
  • Occasionally work with vendors to ensure their products meet Gasser Chair's quality expectations and specifications.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address and resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Attend meetings with appropriate personnel relating to quality matters and prepare regular reports on quality metrics, inspections, and non-conformances for the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Identify areas for improvement in production processes and work with cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance product quality and reduce defects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in Quality Assurance or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Proficient in the use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in quality management software, data entry, and basic Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word) for reporting and tracking purposes.
  • Prior ERP experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and quality best practices.
