About the position

The Quality Assurance (QA) Functionality Tester at Warner Bros. Games is responsible for testing video game products developed by Avalanche Software. This role involves executing test cases, identifying and reporting bugs, and ensuring the overall quality of the gaming experience. The ideal candidate is a passionate gamer with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, capable of effectively communicating findings to the production team.

Responsibilities

• Test products published by Avalanche Software and execute test cases.
• Communicate flaws, bugs, and defects to the production team.
• Enter bugs into the bug database and follow up on them in the test suite.
• Organize workload within the test suite frame and team objectives.
• Declare test cases as pass or fail.
• Assign bugs within the database with supervisor approval.
• Prioritize test cases with supervisor approval.
• Carry out end-user test scenarios and execute established test plans.

Requirements

• Extensive experience playing video games across multiple platforms.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable video game platforms used in testing.
• Solid understanding of relevant game genres.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for finding bugs.
• Attention to detail to identify and reproduce bugs.
• Developing analytical skills necessary for isolating bugs and other problems in the game.
• Ability to communicate test findings effectively in written and verbal formats.
• Understanding of the software game development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of test tools, testing methodology, and processes.
• Basic knowledge of applicable MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and team messaging applications.
• Basic proficiency with task and bug tracking software packages (i.e., JIRA).
• Basic proficiency with video/image capture and editing software.
• High school equivalent or higher.

• Experience with consoles and/or PC testing.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team.
