About the position
As a Quality Auditor at Ply Gem Windows & Doors, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our production processes and products. This position is essential for maintaining the high standards that our customers expect from Cornerstone Building Brands. You will be responsible for conducting quality audits on production activities, identifying any issues, and reporting them to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution. Your role will also involve providing first-level support to Production Associates on various quality matters, ensuring they are well-informed and trained regarding product quality standards. In addition to performing audits, you will assist in the development and maintenance of quality records and retention. Effective communication is key in this role, as you will need to liaise with team leaders, supervisors, and associates across different shifts to address pertinent issues. You will also provide support to external customers, field sales, marketing, and warranty personnel, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed about quality-related matters. Your responsibilities will extend to ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall productivity and safety of the workplace. You will be expected to perform data entry activities for various quality data reports in a timely manner and assist in eliminating obstacles that may prevent products from reaching customers promptly. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Complete all tasks as assigned by the Quality Department Leadership
- Perform all necessary quality audits on production activities
- Report any identified issue to appropriate personnel for prompt resolution
- Provide first-level support to Production Associates on various quality matters
- Provide training to Production Associates regarding product quality
- Perform data entry activities for different quality data reports as required in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist in developing and maintaining of Quality records and retention
- Communicate effectively with team leaders, supervisors and associates on other shifts regarding pertinent issues
- Provide support and communicate effectively with external Customer, Field Sales, Marketing, and Warranty personnel
- Work closely with departmental supervisor on priorities to eliminate obstacles that would prevent product in getting to the customer in a timely manner
- Provide support as needed to ensure 100% accuracy and ensure customer satisfaction
- Responsible for quality, productivity and safety in all given assignments
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Requirements
- Have experience in conducting Root Cause Analysis
- Experience with operating manufacturing equipment and hand tools
- Ability to perform housekeeping duties as needed
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic reading and math skills are preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
- Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods
- Possess communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Detail oriented
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
