Quality Auditor - 3rd Shift

About the position

The Quality Auditor is responsible for inspecting machined work pieces and assemblies to ensure they meet quality specifications. This role involves using various inspection standards and tools to assess product quality, maintaining records of audit results, and collaborating with other personnel to address quality and productivity issues.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machined work pieces and assemblies at inspection or machine stations to ensure conformance to quality specifications.
• Use visual standards and inspection standards to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
• Perform inspections as required by provided standards and instruct personnel on how to perform sorts internally and externally.
• Maintain records and reports of audit results, including sort and rework, moisture analysis reports, and compliance testing logs.
• Operate basic gages and equipment for dimensional analysis with minimal training.
• Use optical comparators, surface roughness testers, contracers, moisture analysis testers, load testers, burst testers, and forklifts as needed.
• Audit to Packaging Standards to assure packaging conformance.
• Report findings to the Inspection Supervisor.
• Travel to customer locations to perform sorts as necessary.
• Create and issue temporary work instructions for rework and sorting when needed.
• Use independent judgment to determine whether parts are good or scrap.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with 5S standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training in quality management or a similar field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience operating a forklift.
