About the position

The Quality Control (QC) Technician and QC Inspector positions at the Aerospace Professional Employment Group of Colorado are critical roles that contribute to the USA space program and national defense. These positions involve conducting thorough inspections and reviews of documentation to ensure that all quality standards are met for aerospace components. The roles require a proactive approach to quality assurance and a commitment to maintaining high standards in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of documentation packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Visually inspect parts for paint masking, anodizing, coatings, damage, and accurate part markings to confirm all quality requirements are met.
  • Gather and organize data for customer source inspections, ensuring all required information is complete and accurately represented.
  • Confirm that inspectors have conducted all necessary inspections and that materials meet print requirements before shipment.
  • Inspect and verify critical components, first-pieces, and finished assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Utilize hand measuring tools and conduct hands-on training inspections.
  • Read and interpret technical prints, drawings, and production specifications, including GD&T.
  • Perform inspections using CMM machines.
  • Maintain quality records in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the production team to resolve quality-related issues.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in quality control (CGMP preferred)
  • Experience with calipers and micrometers
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
  • 3 years of experience with GD&T
  • 4 years of experience in manufacturing
  • 2 years of experience with coordinate measuring machines
  • 1 year of experience in lean manufacturing
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to quality assurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a LEAN manufacturing or machine shop environment
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop inspection and documentation skills.
