About the position

The Quality Control Analyst position is a temporary role within the Quality Assurance department, focusing on microbiological testing and quality assurance systems. The incumbent will engage with various departments to perform analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, ensuring compliance with established standards and regulations. This role is critical in maintaining product quality and safety, with responsibilities that include troubleshooting, data evaluation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standard qualitative and quantitative analysis on purchased raw materials, in-process products, pure drug substances, and finished pharmaceutical preparations.
  • Utilize standard microbiological aseptic techniques and maintain records of all analysis information.
  • Evaluate data obtained from analysis and consult with the Supervisor on discrepancies or deviations.
  • Adhere to corporate and plant safety programs, GMPs, ISO standards, and other regulations.
  • Assist in investigating non-compliance investigations and troubleshooting analytical methodology and instrumentation malfunctions.
  • Perform microbiological environmental monitoring in production areas and in the Microbiology Laboratory.
  • Prepare microbiological testing media and perform testing of water samples from Purified Water systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, or a related 4-year science degree required.
  • At least 1 year of lab experience is required, preferably in microbiology processes.
  • Knowledge and practical application of microbiology are necessary for this position.
  • Good documentation practices and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment are required.
  • Good working knowledge of personal computer skills and aseptic techniques is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • A working knowledge of statistics and data processing is desirable.
  • A thorough understanding of National Formulary (NF), United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), and European Pharmacopoeia (EP) testing procedures is preferred.
