About the position

The Quality Control Analyst I position at MilliporeSigma in Indianapolis, IN is a technical entry-level role focused on analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, stability, and other laboratory responsibilities. The analyst will be responsible for adhering to the Environmental, Health and Safety program, ensuring compliance with safety regulations while performing routine analytical testing for in-process and finished products. This includes conducting tests on raw materials, special test requests, laboratory investigations, and instrument qualifications according to validated methods. In addition to analytical testing, the role involves performing common laboratory procedures such as pH testing, weighing on analytical balances, glassware preparation, equipment calibrations, and peer review of test parameters and reagent preparations. The analyst will also be responsible for routine lab maintenance, including glassware cleaning and other assigned duties. Handling hazardous wastes may be required, and the employee must attend mandatory annual hazardous waste training and demonstrate competency through testing. The position is structured with approximately 25% of the time dedicated to laboratory maintenance duties and 75% as an individual contributor working as a bench analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Environmental, Health and Safety program.
  • Perform routine analytical testing for in-process and finished products.
  • Conduct routine analytical testing for raw materials and special test requests.
  • Execute laboratory investigations and instrument qualifications according to validated methods.
  • Perform common laboratory procedures such as pH testing, weighing on analytical balances, and glassware preparation.
  • Calibrate equipment and conduct peer reviews of test parameters and reagent preparations.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and perform routine lab maintenance tasks.
  • Handle hazardous wastes and attend mandatory hazardous waste training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in quality control.
  • 2 years of experience with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
  • 2 years of experience with spectroscopy.
  • 2 years of experience with gas chromatography.
  • 1 year of experience with CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • 1 year of experience with cGDP (Current Good Distribution Practices).
  • 2 years of experience with cGLP (Current Good Laboratory Practices).
  • Proficiency in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with pH testing (2 years preferred).
  • Ability to commute to Indianapolis, IN 46268 (required).
  • Willingness to relocate to Indianapolis, IN 46268 before starting work (required).
