As an Intern at Rocket, you are a crucial part of our team and are trusted to make decisions and be part of our spirit of collaboration, all while exploring the business area you’re interested in. As a Quality Control Analyst Intern, you’ll assist in performing loan-level reviews to ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and industry guidelines. This role will provide valuable hands-on experience in the mortgage industry and exposure to quality control processes.
Responsibilities
- Review loan files to verify the accuracy and integrity of information used in the lending decision
- Analyze loan documents for compliance with regulatory, investor, and internal guidelines
- Participate in various quality control audits to identify and monitor risk factors
- Communicate findings and recommendations through clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Utilize quality control software and systems to document and track review activities
- Maintain quality control review timelines and ensure deadlines are met
- Collaborate with team members to enhance quality control processes and procedures
- Assist with other projects or tasks as assigned to support the quality control function
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Nice-to-haves
- Previous internship experience in the financial services or mortgage industry
- Familiarity with loan origination or servicing processes
- Understanding of mortgage loan products and guidelines (e.g., FHA, VA, Conventional)
- Coursework or training in quality assurance, auditing, or compliance
