About the position

The Quality Control Analyst position at Goulston in Monroe, NC, is a full-time role focused on ensuring the quality and compliance of products through rigorous laboratory testing and analysis. The primary responsibility of the analyst is to compile, tabulate, and analyze laboratory test data, summarizing findings in detailed reports that highlight any deviations from product specifications. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the products and ensuring they meet the required standards before reaching the market. In this position, the Quality Control Analyst will conduct chemical testing according to established test sheet instructions for finished products, raw materials, and samples submitted to the Quality Control (QC) Lab. The analyst is expected to maintain meticulous records of all data generated during testing, ensuring that all work performed is signed and dated appropriately. This includes keeping and maintaining any records deemed necessary for the QC operation, which is essential for traceability and compliance with industry standards. The role also involves the operation and calibration of laboratory equipment as directed, ensuring that all procedures are followed competently as indicated by written protocols. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment, which includes housekeeping duties, waste disposal, and inventory management of lab supplies. Additionally, the Quality Control Analyst may be assigned other duties as needed to support the overall operations of the QC department.

Responsibilities

  • Complete chemical testing in accordance to test sheet instructions for finished products, raw materials, and samples submitted to the QC Lab.
  • Maintain records for all data generated; sign and date all work performed.
  • Keep and maintain any records deemed necessary to QC operation.
  • Operation and calibration of equipment as directed.
  • Competent in the routine operation as indicated by written procedures for the analysis of products and raw materials for which training has been completed.
  • Maintain lab through housekeeping, waste disposal and taking inventory of lab supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1+ years of related chemical laboratory quality experience.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
