The Quality Assistant at Kemin plays a crucial role in supporting product quality through various analytical and wet chemistry activities. This position involves sampling raw materials, conducting chemical analyses, maintaining instruments, and reporting on projects. The Quality Assistant will also communicate with Operations and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction, working primarily Monday to Friday with potential weekend shifts.

  • Collect samples, prepare shipments, and inspect raw materials and finished goods.
  • Test raw materials as applicable.
  • Perform raw material, finished goods, and packaging release with supervision as applicable.
  • Follow all procedures and SOPs and assist with updates.
  • Perform limited batch record reviews with supervision as applicable.
  • Maintain proper quality documentation.
  • Support Change Management process as necessary.
  • Enter daily data into M3 and LIMs as applicable.
  • Report any nonconformities by following applicable SOPs.
  • Send out supplier evaluation samples as applicable.
  • Follow good lab procedures and safety protocols.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.
  • High School Diploma with two years of related experience or an Associates Degree in a Science related field.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, inspection, or other related experience preferred.
  • Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct, and perform method validation on lab equipment.
  • Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • A post-offer background check and drug screen is required.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes.
