About the position

The Quality Control Associate at The Chefs' Warehouse is responsible for performing inspections of inbound products and ensuring quality assurance of outbound products in compliance with customer specifications. This role emphasizes adherence to food safety standards and involves monitoring product quality, maintaining cleanliness in the work area, and supporting purchasing and sales staff with accurate product condition information.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of inbound products and quality assurance of outbound products.
• Monitor daily quality of products and report any quality issues to the Supervisor.
• Check rotation, temperature controls, and identify spoilage.
• Organize items to match with labels in slots and maintain assigned cooler neat and organized.
• Assist in conducting inventory and check quality on in-house products of the warehouse.
• Clean, maintain, and sanitize all equipment used in the Quality Control area according to established sanitary rules and regulations.
• Support purchasing and sales staff with accurate information regarding product condition.
• Adhere to food security and food safety regulations and policies (HACCP, CGMPs).
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor/manager on duty.

Requirements

• One year of experience in produce quality control.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated cold environment of 30-35 degrees.
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift between 45-50 pounds.
• Good understanding of physical condition, food safety, and basic cleanliness rules.
• Capability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Good hand dexterity and eye coordination.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to be trained.
