About the position

The Quality Control Chemist position at Actalent involves performing routine analyses of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can conduct various tests and adhere to safety regulations while working independently in a lab environment, primarily during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished products using titrations, FTIR, GC, HPLC, Color, viscometer, and other tests.
• Conduct calculations for batch testing in a lab environment utilizing instrumentation and physical test methods.
• Follow setup procedures and work instructions for laboratory equipment.
• Understand and apply all customer and company quality standards consistently.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of industry experience in quality control, chemistry, or chemical manufacturing.
• Proficiency in gas chromatography (GC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
• Experience with analytical testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and techniques, including FTIR, titration, and liquid-liquid partition.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Nice-to-haves

• BS in Chemistry or other Sciences preferred; AS in Chemistry is acceptable.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.
