About the position
The position involves performing diversified inspection duties to ensure compliance with specifications for chemicals, textile raw materials, and subassemblies. The role includes measuring, testing, and visual verification, as well as reviewing documentation for lot release and conducting environmental monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Perform independent incoming, in-process, and final inspection of textile raw materials and subassemblies.
- Inspect product labeling and packaging for compliance.
- Document results of inspections and maintain records.
- Prepare test samples for fiber ID testing of incoming raw materials.
- Operate test equipment including Thickness Gages, Balance/Scales, and Tensile Testers.
- Review lot history folders for final lot release sign off.
- Assist in writing inspection and test procedures relevant to inspections.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment.
- Participate in safety and GxP assessments.
Requirements
- High School Graduate with at least 3 years experience in a production facility or quality control laboratory.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to make sound decisions regarding product quality versus specification.
- Basic math skills and understanding of basic statistics.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel).
- Knowledge of AQL sampling plans.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a GMP/ISO or Mil Spec environment.
- Experience with textiles.
- ASQ certification.
