About the position

Nytron Aerospace Manufacturing Systems is seeking a Quality Control Inspector (QC Inspector) to join our rapidly growing aerospace company located in Orange, CA. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $30, depending on experience. The QC Inspector will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and precision, which is essential in the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision machining and mechanical inspection, as well as experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and PC-DMIS software. In this role, the QC Inspector will be responsible for developing CMM inspection programs for both new and existing products. This includes utilizing PC-DMIS software to create and modify inspection programs, as well as setting up and operating measurement equipment. The QC Inspector will also perform tests on completed tools to ensure that parts meet specifications, making necessary adjustments as required. Additionally, the inspector will create documentation to provide objective evidence of conformance to engineering requirements and perform surface plate layout inspections as needed. The QC Inspector will work closely with the supervision and management teams to achieve departmental and company goals. This position requires a proactive approach to teamwork and a commitment to maintaining safety policies and practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity, contributing to a positive team spirit within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CMM inspection programs for new and existing products using PC DMIS software.
  • Proven experience/ability with mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, optical comparators, bore gauges, digital height gauges, O.D./I.D. micrometers, indicators, gage pins/blocks, and microscopes.
  • Create documentation necessary to provide objective evidence of conformance to engineering requirements.
  • Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled measurement equipment with PC-DMIS.
  • Create new and correct, modify and rewrite existing CMM inspection programs.
  • Perform tests with completed tools to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
  • Position and secure machine parts on surface plates or worktables.
  • Perform surface plate layout inspection as required.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years as a CMM programmer.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and CAD models using PC-DMIS.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, manufacturers' manuals, and sketches.
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience in precision machining.
