About the position

The Quality Control Inspector at Fortec United States plays a vital role in maintaining high-quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This position involves conducting thorough inspections of incoming components, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards. The inspector will also maintain detailed records, report discrepancies, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the quality department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform meticulous inspection of incoming components and materials to ensure they meet specified requirements.
  • Conduct first article inspections on new or modified products to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform detailed in-process inspections during manufacturing and final inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain organized records of quality-related correspondence.
  • Suggest and implement new testing or inspection methods to streamline quality control processes.
  • Provide training to co-workers and new employees on quality control concepts and inspection techniques.
  • Stay updated on the latest quality control practices and apply new knowledge to improve inspection processes.
  • Ensure that all inspection tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical specifications.
  • Skilled in using precision inspection tools, including calipers, microscopes, and power supplies.
  • Excellent vision and attention to detail, capable of detecting defects as small as 0.3mm or 0.01 inches.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in quality control within the electronics manufacturing industry.
