About the position

As a Quality Control Lab Technician at Glanbia Nutritionals Inc., you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our nutritional products. Our company specializes in dairy and non-dairy nutritional ingredients, and we are recognized as the leading provider of whey-based nutritional ingredients globally. This position is essential for maintaining the high standards of our products, which are used in various markets including food and beverage, infant and clinical nutrition, and functional nutrition. You will be responsible for conducting chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses of nutritional components and blends, ensuring that all quality standards are met. In this role, you will conduct microbiology testing on raw materials and finished blends, perform physical testing such as titrations, pH measurements, loss on drying (LOD), bulk density assessments, sensory testing, and sieve analysis. You will also analyze nutritional ingredients and blends using advanced techniques including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP MS), and Ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy. Additionally, you will prepare documentation, generate reports, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with safety guidelines and quality standards. Your role will also involve assisting in Quality Control Investigations, where you will utilize your problem-solving skills to address any quality issues that arise. This position requires a strong focus on results and the ability to adapt to a team-based environment, where collaboration and communication are key to success. Responsibilities

  • Conduct microbiology testing on raw materials and finished blends.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of quality control experience in manufacturing, food, or nutraceutical industries.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D required; Associate's Degree in Science or related field preferred.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience, particularly in microbiology or HPLC/UPLC.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Chromeleon, or Empower software preferred.
