About the position

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the quality control plan for a logistics and procurement contract at the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center. This role ensures compliance with contract and ISO 9001 standards, focusing on continuous improvement and proper documentation of procurement and material handling processes. Additionally, the manager leads the site's safety program, conducting training, inspections, and accident investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with corporate quality directives and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the site-specific quality control program, ensuring operational controls are in place and inspections/audits are performed as per the Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Collaborate with operations to standardize and implement operational controls, including procedures, checklists, and training plans.
  • Conduct and document process and system inspections or audits using established standards.
  • Measure, monitor, and analyze processes to implement actions that meet goals and drive continual improvement.
  • Obtain and maintain quality data to support management review efforts at site and corporate levels.
  • Provide direction and supervision to inspector personnel as needed.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and required safety training, and perform hazard inspections/assessments.
  • Investigate employee work-related accidents and incidents, determining root causes and preventive actions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2 years' experience in quality systems and enforcing contract quality standards required.
  • 2 years' experience in logistics operations, including managing/supervising employees.
  • Experience in reading and understanding statements of work for project work.
  • Experienced in root cause analysis, data analysis, and preventive/corrective action.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an environment that includes workers with disabilities.
  • Government contract and/or Department of Defense (DoD) experience preferred.
