About the position

The Quality Control Manager position at R&W Construction is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality requirements on construction and environmental projects, particularly in Mechanical and Plumbing systems. The role involves promoting quality control programs, facilitating training, and overseeing the implementation of contract specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Verify compliance with quality requirements on construction and environmental projects.
• Ensure work is performed according to contract specifications and building codes.
• Implement contract documents and promote the quality control program at project sites.
• Facilitate quality training for project staff and subcontractors.
• Ensure appropriate testing programs are implemented and results documented.
• Inspect and document the receipt of materials for compliance with contract documents.
• Facilitate the submittal process for materials, designs, and plans.
• Author quality-related documentation including reports and logs.
• Ensure documentation is organized and uploaded to the project portal.
• Implement the Three-Phase Control Process according to company standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to integrate quality processes into project schedules.
• Provide oversight to subcontractors and project teams to ensure compliance with designs.
• Report quality and safety incidents in the Company Incident Database.
• Document and verify corrective actions and their close-out.
• Mentor and provide direction to Quality Control Supervisors and junior staff.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats.
• Aptitude for independent thinking and reasoning.
• Experience in teaching quality concepts and requirements.
• Leadership experience with subcontractors and project teams.
• Competency in Microsoft Office products and Windows.
• Multiple years of work experience in quality control.
• Valid NC Driver's License and ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
