About the position

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) at Windstream is responsible for enhancing regional work quality and standards within the organization. Reporting to the Regional President, the QCM will collaborate with local managers and operations efficiency consultants to identify areas for improvement, mentor technicians, and ensure operational efficiency. The role involves significant travel (25-50%) to various markets for field inspections and to monitor performance metrics, with a focus on reducing trouble tickets and improving service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvement in regional work quality and standards.
  • Collaborate with local managers and operations efficiency consultants to identify areas needing improvement.
  • Utilize high-performing technicians to assist those who may be struggling.
  • Monitor and analyze reports to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct field inspections to evaluate needs and success of the quality control program.
  • Track target markets and technicians post-project to ensure sustained improvements.
  • Provide weekly progress reports to the Regional President and team.
  • Reduce regional trouble tickets by 100 per month through technician mentoring.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.

  • Proficient in data analysis to make informed decisions and identify trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex information and provide actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of optimizing operations and enhancing team performance.
  • College degree or 5-7 years related experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of OSP engineering and familiarity with JobTrac.
  • Proficiency in using OFS, WinCare, DSI, Power BI, and Winbuy applications.
  • Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards in telecommunications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Effective presentation skills for communicating complex technical information.
