About the position

The Quality Control Manager will oversee and coordinate quality assurance efforts for the Primary Training Ranges (PTRs) managed by ACC across multiple locations. This role is crucial in ensuring high standards of quality and safety during aircraft operations and ground weapons fire activities, while minimizing government oversight. The manager will develop and implement quality programs, manage personnel training, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all quality/safety aspects of range safety during aircraft operations, emergencies, and ground weapons fire activities.
  • Provide a quality approach that minimizes government oversight for service acceptability.
  • Manage the quality/safety management interface with the Government quality assurance evaluation program.
  • Establish organizational structure, functional responsibilities, and lines of authority for quality control personnel.
  • Develop a responsive quality program to identify, correct, and prevent discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate scoring of missions and reporting of scores, including training personnel for scoring equipment operations.
  • Oversee testing and acceptance of threat and scoring systems assigned to a range.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections as required by Air Force Technical Orders/commercial manuals.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a QC inspection system conforming to PTR contract provisions.
  • Create the QC Inspection schedule for all scheduled maintenance.

Requirements

  • Quality Control experience of a DoD aircraft training range within the last 5 years.
  • Quality management experience of projects with multi-million dollar annual budgets.
  • Experience in developing and implementing quality programs.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000-2015 standards.
  • Expert knowledge of range operations policies, directives, and applicable operational methods.
  • Ability to perform duties in a stressful environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for conducting conferences and preparing reports.
  • General knowledge of computer systems including USAF databases and word processing applications.
  • Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and patience in sensitive situations.
  • Current Driver's License required; must be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
