About the position

The Quality Control Specialist IV (Inspector / Quality Assurance Manager) at AECOM is responsible for leading quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) efforts on-site for federal construction projects, specifically at the ALCAN Land Port of Entry in Tok, Alaska. This role involves overseeing the implementation of quality control plans, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards throughout the construction phases. The position requires a strong focus on maintaining quality in a challenging sub-arctic environment while collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the QA/QC and on-site inspection for federal construction projects.
  • Conduct on-site observation and inspection services for field construction activities.
  • Assist the AECOM Project Manager with constructability reviews and submittal processing.
  • Track project status and quality compliance, providing ongoing observations.
  • Serve as the Owner's Representative during construction and closeout activities.
  • Monitor and report on quality and progress to the AECOM Project Manager and GSA Project Team.
  • Provide feedback on all on-site activities and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Evaluate contractor capabilities to provide required quality and maintain schedule.
  • Mentor and coordinate with AECOM and consultant staff to ensure quality completion of tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus 6 years of experience in QA/QC management and on-site inspection on construction projects.
  • Prior experience working on GSA and/or other federal agency construction projects.
  • Experience in managing design-build construction projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Professional Engineering Certification, License or Architectural Registration.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience leading QA/QC and on-site inspection for construction projects.
  • Experience in remote and sub-arctic locations.
