About the position
The Quality Control Specialist III (Automated Tester) role at ESN involves supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) in Norfolk, VA, by providing independent validation and verification, operations, sustainment, and installation support. The position focuses on automated software testing, project management, and utilizing modern software development methodologies within a military context.
Responsibilities
- Support automated software testing for NIWC LANT.
- Act as Scrum Master for project teams.
- Manage project documentation and tools such as JIRA, JAMA, and Confluence.
- Provide operational and sustainment support for MFOM systems.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in products and processes.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or related military experience.
- 5 years of professional experience in solving technical problems.
- Trained in engineering and/or software design/maintenance techniques.
- Practical understanding of engineering concepts.
- Experience in research, design, and development of software or utility programs.
- Experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting.
- Notable experience with modern software development methodologies (e.g., agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS).
- Secret Security Clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- 3 years of experience in Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) software testing.
- 3 years of experience in developing automated software tests.
- 2 years of experience in an agile software development process.
