About the position

The Quality Control Specialist at Consolidated Communications is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, administration, and installation methods related to telecommunications technology. This role involves working closely with various departments to enhance productivity, quality, and customer service, while also providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise across multiple initiatives. The position requires regular interaction with senior management and focuses on developing best practices and implementing policies to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Visit customer locations and work sites to review work completed by technicians and contractors performing work on fiber service orders and troubles.
  • Review and score findings, summary reports, and provide continuous feedback to ensure compliance with company expectations.
  • Develop best practices and collaborate with the management team on their implementation.
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Act as an advisor and expert to subordinates for elevated issues and problems.
  • Manage projects or broad programs, providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise across large-scale initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Accomplish related tasks to support departmental activities and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years' related experience.
  • Broad knowledge of FTTP (BPON, GPON, XGSPON) and home networks (routers and wifi management).
  • Possess fiber product knowledge, including services and installation techniques.
  • Understanding of administration, safety, and installation/troubleshooting methods associated with fiber orders.
  • Accountable for project or program results, exercising considerable judgment in developing methods and evaluation criteria.
  • Ability to solve a wide range of complex problems and provide solutions to business or technical issues.
  • Competence in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Oracle Field Service (OFS).
