About The Position

The Quality Control Supervisor position at Paul Mueller Company is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control for the company's products. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations while leading and developing a team of Quality Inspectors. The supervisor will engage in performance management, continuous improvement initiatives, and collaboration with various departments to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years of Quality Control experience in a controlled environment.
  • Strong leadership skills to develop and coach others.
  • Knowledge of employee selection, development, and training principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in continuous improvement systems and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of the Paul Mueller Company Quality Management System.
  • Familiarity with ASME, BPE, PED, National Board codes, and other applicable standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching, teaching, and supervising assigned personnel.
  • Initiating proactive employee coaching and development.
  • Providing on-site leadership for project teams to meet goals and responsibilities.
  • Managing performance of direct reports in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Supervising daily work of Quality Inspectors in the Business Unit.
  • Collaborating to identify and document acceptable quality standards.
  • Reviewing customer specifications and comparing them to the quality system.
  • Developing and reviewing quality plans as required.
  • Leading customer quality audits and supplier qualification assessments.
  • Staying updated on changes in relevant codes and standards.
  • Implementing continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and improve quality.
  • Reviewing non-destructive testing training programs and ensuring personnel competency.
  • Completing and delivering employee performance reviews.
  • Engaging with other departments to resolve warranty issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Implementing methods to inspect and evaluate processes and products.
  • Ensuring process control documents meet requirements.
  • Leading continuous improvement projects in Quality Control.
  • Participating in customer visits and cross-functional team projects.
  • Reviewing order specifications and identifying deliverables.
  • Communicating special requirements to other business units.
  • Working with documentation teams to identify quality submittals.
  • Requesting commitment dates from Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Supporting the Internal Audit team as required.
  • Applying lessons learned to future efforts.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
