About the position

The Quality Control Technician at Oldcastle Infrastructure is responsible for performing daily quality control functions at the Avon Precast Facility. This role involves conducting routine tests on raw materials, in-process components, and final products to ensure compliance with quality standards. The technician will work in both indoor and outdoor manufacturing environments, reporting to the Quality Control Manager and contributing to process improvements and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-pour inspection checks as required for wet cast operations.
• Performs post-pour inspection checks as required for wet cast operations.
• Participates in Corrective Action Reports for nonconforming products.
• Monitors production operations and reports deficiencies as required.
• Performs material gradation testing as necessary.
• Conducts daily wet tests for concrete production pours.
• Performs daily compressive strength testing of hardened concrete specimens.
• Maintains record keeping of quality documents, reports, inspections, etc.
• Maintains calibration and maintenance of lab equipment as required.
• Assists with operation and maintenance of Batching System.
• Reports to management team on process improvements, repetitive mistakes, and quality concerns.
• Assists other Quality Control personnel as requested.
• Ensures that all precast products are correctly marked.

Requirements

• Previous quality control experience in the Construction Industry, Precast experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and understanding of basic math and geometry.
• Ability to read/write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
• Currently holds (or has the ability to attain within 90 days) Quality Control Certifications including, but not limited to, ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically throughout the day.
