About the position

The Quality Control Technician position at Artazn LLC in Greeneville, TN, is a critical role responsible for ensuring that materials meet the required specifications through rigorous testing and inspection processes. In the chemical and physical lab area, the technician will collect and prepare samples for testing, perform in-process inspections, and maintain accurate records of data and observations. The technician will also operate and maintain vision inspection machines, manage non-conforming materials, and conduct material property testing using various tools and standards. The role emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols and using personal protective equipment as required. Additionally, the technician will contribute to continual improvement activities and procedural development within the lab and other departments. Responsibilities

  • Collect and prepare samples of products and chemical solutions for inspections and testing.
  • Perform testing of products in all stages of manufacturing.
  • Conduct in-process inspection and analysis of products against specifications.
  • Record data and observations accurately and communicate findings in a timely manner.
  • Operate and maintain vision inspection machines.
  • Manage non-conforming materials, including labeling and placing materials on hold.
  • Perform material property testing such as tensile, hardness, and thickness measurements.
  • Conduct gage R&R studies and perform gage calibration/certification.
  • Maintain organized and clean work areas and perform preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
  • Contribute to continual improvement activities and procedural development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School diploma required; technical associate or college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing with preferred laboratory experience; or minimum 3 years' experience with an associate or college degree.
  • Understanding of statistical methodology.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, graphic).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Competency in computer word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices.
  • Software knowledge of Gagepack, Epicor, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
