About the position

The Quality Control Technician I is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of products through analytical testing and routine production verification. This entry-level position involves collaboration with various departments to enhance processes and maintain compliance with food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various audits and tests from the incoming raw material stage through the finished product to ensure wholesomeness of the product line.
  • Provide technical support focusing on consumer requirements and continuous product quality.
  • Monitor product processing, consistency, and packaging integrity through analytical testing and documentation verifications.
  • Take action on any quality noncompliance and record results in the Quality Computer System.
  • Document investigations, findings, and root cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Generate hold tags for products not within specification and assist in their disposition.
  • Maintain the QA Hold system and daily retention sample procedures for finished goods.
  • Manage laboratory inventory of tools, supplies, and chemicals, ensuring all equipment is functional and calibrated.
  • Support quality-related activities such as pre-operational verifications and technical assistance as needed.
  • Conduct routine GMP/Food safety inspections and QA line audits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 2 year VOC/Tech Degree or 4 Year Bachelor Degree in a Food or Science related program preferred.
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified HACCP and SQF training and experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in systems and programs such as Adobe, SharePoint, Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, and MES.
