About the position

The Quality Control Technician position at a large metals company in Virginia Beach, VA, is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards during the manufacturing process. This role involves performing inspections, documenting defects, and collaborating with the Quality Manager to maintain ISO certification and improve manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform product inspections during production to verify accuracy according to engineering drawings.
• Use checklists to ensure products meet customer specifications.
• Document and log quality defects according to ASC procedures.
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed on the production floor and alert the Quality Manager of any deviations.
• Collaborate with the Quality Manager on projects for continued ISO certification.
• Assist in complaint evaluations, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Suggest tracking mechanisms to improve ASC manufacturing processes.
• Work with the Quality Manager to perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct internal quality audits as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years in a previous quality control position in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in welding or knowledge of welding standards preferred.
• Passionate about quality and discovering the root cause of issues.
• Experience or knowledge in electrical standards.
• Knowledge of ISO processes and audit compliance.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis.
