About the position

The Quality Control Technician at Ensoftek Inc. is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of raw materials and finished products in the chemical manufacturing industry. This role involves conducting inspections, testing, and documentation to maintain high standards of quality and safety in production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of all vendor documentation for incoming raw material intended for use in production.
  • Notify the Purchasing Agent of any documentation deficiency and direct the Purchasing Agent to obtain the necessary documentation.
  • Place material rejected for incomplete documentation in the nonconforming material storage area.
  • Label and place nonconforming material appropriately in the storage area.
  • Complete the Certificate of Conformance or Certificate of Analysis in the shipping container as appropriate.
  • Conduct final inspections of all blended products, including viscosity and density checks.
  • Perform chemical, instrumental, and physical laboratory testing using Instron Tensile/Compression Validator.
  • Obtain a sample of each lot number for retention and store samples in a designated area.
  • Authorize the Shipping Clerk to ship inspected and documented material.
  • Document deficiencies in the product or process and determine root causes in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Quality Manager.
  • Specify corrective/preventive actions required to eliminate problems and participate in the Corrective Action Board.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with instrument calibrations and entries.
  • Maintain neat and accurate records of all testing conducted and provide detailed data of test results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide samples and technical support to customer and manufacturing activities.
  • Label and mark each package with applicable work instructions.
  • Pick blended products from storage for order fulfillment and prepare them for shipping.
  • Maintain a one-month inventory of packaging material and utilize purchase requisitions when needed.
  • Determine requirements for new or modified packaging material based on product delivery changes.
  • Assist in machining small parts when necessary and package lab-scale formulated epoxies for problem-solving and sampling.

Requirements

  • 2 years of lab experience in making and testing formulated materials (Adhesives, Paint, coatings, etc.).
  • 2 years in a Quality Assurance position (preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to conduct measurements and use measuring equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in the chemical manufacturing area.
