About the position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing inspections and completing necessary documentation to ensure product quality in a precision optics environment. This role involves conducting in-process inspections, First Piece inspections, and promoting problem resolution within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Writing CMM programs on Zeiss CMM using Calypso software.
  • Working with engineering relating to fixture design.
  • Writing part inspection plans.
  • Measuring First Article Inspections and creating their reports.
  • Performing QC inspections using hand gages, Zeiss CMM, profilometer, interferometer, measuring microscope.
  • Charting.
  • Controlling nonconforming product.
  • Promoting problem resolution through strong communication skills.
  • Conducting receiving inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous inspection experience including optical measurements.
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience and proficiency with Zeiss Calypso software is a big plus.
  • Computer skills are a must, with a strong working knowledge of Excel required.
  • MS Access experience is a plus.
  • Very good visual acuity is a must.
  • Leadership skills are a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with optical measurements.
  • Proficiency in MS Access.
