About the position

The Quality Control Technician at Newly Weds Foods is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety standards of all ingredients and finished products. This role involves sampling, evaluating products, maintaining records, and communicating quality issues to various departments. The technician plays a crucial role in monitoring equipment functionality and compliance with safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sampling and approving all incoming ingredients.
• Maintaining articulate and well-organized records.
• Evaluating finished products for quality and acceptability.
• Performing necessary analysis as required according to product specifications.
• Communicating product quality issues to relevant staff including Production, Supervisors, and QC Manager.
• Logging all analysis test results and batch information in the I-Series (AS400).
• Monitoring line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Checking metal detectors, magnets, scales, and performing critical control point & GMP audits.
• Assisting in foreign material and product non-conformance investigations.
• Performing batch set-up checks and logging discrepancies.
• Placing products on hold as necessary and releasing them when appropriate.
• Rejecting products as necessary and completing rejection forms with root cause and corrective action analysis.
• Checking allergens clean out effectiveness as needed.
• Performing Pre-Op audits when necessary.
• Performing production scale checks and lab equipment calibration based on the calibration schedule.
• Collecting micro samples and placing micro hold products on hold.
• Performing special tasks as assigned by the QC manager.
• Maintaining the retain sample area and control sample file.
• Following all GMPs and Safety Procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of related work experience.
• Ability to use quality control analysis equipment.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Mathematical skills.
• Computer skills and data processing skills required.
• Ability to climb ladders to work on platforms.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
